Shame on SRQ school district

I'm finding myself really frustrated and confused about the Sarasota County school district. My daughter comes home everyday complaining about teachers cursing and belittling students. My daughter is a straight A student and has never been in any trouble of any sort at school. So imagine my surprise when she tells me that she has 14...yes 14...zeros in one of her classes because the instructor believes that a kid that doesn't answer a question to his satisfactory, is worthy of an "F" for the day. Mind you, the questions are not always school work related. He has given her several zeros for being late to his class all the while knowing that the reason she was late was because she had permission from another teacher, who informed him of the arrangement, to stay after class to complete an important project she was working on. When my daughter told him that the teacher she was working with emailed him to inform that she would be late for his class, he simply replied, "Well I don't read my emails, so you're getting a zero." What an asshole!! There have been several complaints about this man from students as well as parents and school officials have taken no action. My daughter told me that this man has went as far as calling a kid a faggot. I know this to be true because the child was that of my girlfriends best friend. Hell, I'm still waiting on the school to address an incident involving my child being physically assaulted by another parent while on school grounds. After all of this, my girlfriend and I have decided to take all these matters to the school board and demand that action be taken against the asshole teacher, the assaulting parent, and any other issues that have occurred that go unaddressed. I have no faith or trust in this school district and we are awaiting the day when we can relocate and offer our a better, safer, and certainly more incouraging education.
